Valdis Brože Receives the AUTOR AWESOME Award 2026

Latvian contemporary jewellery artist Valdis Brože has received the AUTOR AWESOME Award 2026 at AUTOR 2026 in Bucharest. The AAA is the highest distinction presented by AUTOR, recognising artists whose strong creative voice and artistic practice meaningfully expand the language of contemporary jewellery.

In announcing the award, the organisers described Brože’s work as moving “between precision, symbolism and quiet intensity”, creating objects that feel both deeply personal and timeless. This reflects the essence of his artistic practice, in which conceptual clarity, refined craftsmanship and a restrained visual language come together in a distinctive body of work.

As part of the award, Valdis Brože will become the AUTOR Focus Artist for the next edition of the fair, receiving a dedicated platform to present his work to the international contemporary jewellery community.

This year, Latvia was also represented at AUTOR by Diāna Tamane and Daria Svirel. Together with Brože’s award-winning participation, their presence highlighted the strength, diversity and growing international visibility of contemporary jewellery from Latvia.
