Latvia was represented among 50 selected artists by Zane Vilka.
Zane Vilka (Latvia) is a distinguished artist specializing in metal design and jewelry making. She holds a Master of Arts degree and actively contributes to the field as an educator, mentoring aspiring designers. As the chair of the Latvian Jewelry Art Association, she plays a key role in organizing exhibitions that showcase contemporary craftsmanship. Vilka views jewelry making as an intimate connection with the material world, seeking harmony in colors and shapes while embracing the beauty of natural coincidences. Inspired by nature and ancient cultures, she employs sustainable materials such as silver, gold, and natural stones. Her work integrates traditional techniques to ensure longevity, while her signature stone-cutting approach results in unique inlays. Amethyst, chrysoprase, rose quartz, and opals feature prominently in her latest creations, reflecting her commitment to both aesthetic refinement and sustainable artistry.
